This program consists of three rotations that are 12 months – 9 months – 9 months in duration and typically occur in three distinct disciplines within the hiring department. The intent of our EDP is to offer breadth & Depth in various technical experiences through challenging positions available in our organizations. This program will help expand your professional and technical competencies that will serve as the foundation for exceptional contributions that you will make at Pratt & Whitney.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated software programming experience in C, C++, Python
  • Basic understanding of real-time embedded software concepts such as scheduling, concurrency, coherency
  • Experience with real-time operating systems and multi-core processors.
  • Familiarity with SPI, MIL-STD-1394, MIL-STD-1553, and/or the Ethernet communication stacks
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and software Configuration Management - JIRA and Git

Responsibilities

  • The development and certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems.
  • Responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development including requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design and product software design, verification & validation.
  • Integrate the control and diagnostic system design across other engine system modules and with the air vehicles and provide support throughout the complete engine product life cycle.
  • Responsible for the foundational software layer that abstracts the hardware and manages the resources for engine control and prognostic and health management applications for Pratt & Whitney engines using state-of-the-art technologies, tools & methodologies.
