The Embedded Controls Engineer will design, develop, and sustain control systems for Thermo Fisher Scientific’s cold storage and ultra-low-temperature (ULT) product portfolio, with a focus on embedded microprocessor-based hardware and software. The role is hands-on and collaborates with engineers, technicians, NPD design leadership, and cross-functional partners in Product Management, Product Engineering, Quality, and Regulatory to define electrical systems, develop embedded software, maintain traceability, and meet customer, performance, and regulatory expectations throughout the product lifecycle. The position develops embedded control PCBAs, circuits, firmware, and HMI designs for ULT freezers and cold storage platforms. It also creates design and qualification documentation, develops test methods, evaluates results, and designs modular, scalable, and reusable solutions. The engineer collaborates with refrigeration and mechanical engineering teams through the NPD process, supports contract manufacturers and products made at global facilities, and contributes to technology roadmaps.
