About The Position

As an EMB-145 Instructor Pilot at CAE, you will play a key role in developing confident, highly skilled pilots through world‑class simulator and ground school instruction. You will guide clients through their training journey while ensuring safety, compliance, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or state‑issued equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • 2–5 years of relevant job experience.
  • Previous experience teaching or training others (preferred).
  • Demonstrated customer‑service orientation.
  • Must be authorized to live and work in the United States.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet-based programs.
  • Ability to participate in CAE’s DOT Anti‑Drug & Alcohol testing program.
  • Hold or have held a professional pilot’s license.
  • Meet the physical requirements of the role, including: Fine motor skills and hand‑eye coordination. Ability to sit in a confined space for 4–6 hours with limited breaks. Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours). Ability to sit, stoop, climb, twist, and turn.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing instructor qualification or aircraft type rating.
  • FAR Part 135 experience.
  • 3,000+ hours of total flight time.
  • Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with at least one unrestricted PIC type rating.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and effective learning environment.
  • Ability to tailor training to diverse customer needs.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and timely records.
  • Internal Candidates: Ideal candidates are in good standing and TCE‑qualified on the EMB-145 or currently a TCE on another platform.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver flight simulator and ground school instruction in accordance with regulatory requirements, CAE‑approved curriculum, and customer expectations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and lead clients through all phases of their assigned training.
  • Provide simulator, flight, and classroom instruction for licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
  • Conduct comprehensive pre‑ and post‑flight simulator briefings aligned with CAE standards.
  • Complete required administrative duties such as training records, qualification tracking, and recommending remedial training as needed.
  • Support the development of curricula and courseware as an SME.
  • After approximately 1.5+ years (based on business needs), qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman.
  • Participate in training that may include international travel and extended stays.
