About The Position

As an Email Developer (L1), you will be responsible for coding, reviewing, and testing email communications for our financial services and healthcare clients. This includes the development of templates with simple logic, adhering to accessibility standards, and coding for consistency across multiple email clients and device sizes. Additionally, this role will need an understanding of email best practices for deliverability and consumer engagement. At times, this role may interface with clients directly in order to validate requirements and facilitate approvals.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years’ experience developing emails with HTML/CSS.
  • Basic knowledge of responsive email development.
  • Some design experience, specifically with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Working knowledge of AmpScript, Handlebars, JavaScript or other relevant scripting language.
  • Familiarity with email compliance regulations such as CAN-SPAM and accessibility standards.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and support skills.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness, motivation, and initiative.
  • Ability to work independently, with some assistance from the team or manager.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using email testing and deliverability tools (Email on Acid, Litmus, etc.).
  • Familiar with email tracking pixels and analytics (Email on Acid, Litmus, Google Analytics, etc.).
  • Knowledge of front or back-end development languages such as SQL, C#, .net, databases, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Gather email campaign requirements by coordinating with clients and/or internal customer services teams.
  • Convert basic email designs into pixel-perfect email templates using HTML/CSS.
  • Utilize tools to ensure emails render consistently across browsers, ESPs, and devices such as Litmus or Email on Acid.
  • Adhere to accessibility best practices when coding templates.
  • Work with scripting languages such as AmpScript or Handlebars to manage dynamic content and variable data and apply basic logic to templates.
  • Provide guidance on email best practices, with a working knowledge of the CAN-SPAM Act.
  • Help troubleshoot technical issues related to email templates and campaigns.
  • Assist with best practice recommendations for subject lines, deliverability, and inbox optimization.
  • Provide performance metrics and reporting as needed.
  • Work with the team to improve processes and work methods for greater efficiency.
