Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Valid license issued by the Ohio State Board of Education in Elementary and/or Secondary education
TESOL endorsement
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Successful BCI/FBI background check.
Responsibilities
Administer the Ohio English Language Proficiency Screener (OELPS) to identify a student’s level of English language proficiency.
Administer the OELPA yearly to English learners to determine proficient level.
Plan and deliver targeted English language instruction and adapt standard content-area lessons, such as math or science, so multilingual students can learn.
Build students’ English language proficiency and support their academic success across content areas based on students’ language proficiency and learning needs.
Develop and implement standards-aligned lessons that promote listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to support students’ access to the general education curriculum.
Monitor student progress and maintain appropriate documentation of language development.
Communicate with families and school personnel regarding student progress and instructional needs.
Create a welcoming, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment.
