About The Position
Bates Dining, Conferences and Campus Events employs a diverse population who provide services for a self-operated student dining program, campus catering, cash dining operations, vending, summer programs, one day programs, major campus events, campus space scheduling and non-student short term housing. This position provides in-person English language instruction with the intent of strengthening fluency, improving communication skills, and preparing staff for advancement opportunities.
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- College degree in education or related field required
- Previous teaching experience required
- Experience with English language learners required
- Commitment to equity and inclusion, and serving the needs of a culturally and educationally diverse community.
- Exemplary organizational and time management skills are a must.
- Ability to relate well to individuals with varying backgrounds, education and skills.
- Ability to engage participants in class material.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree preferred
Responsibilities
- Provides in-person English language instruction twice per week during the academic year.
- Designs and implements lesson plans for classes focused on workplace terminology to improve employees’ comprehension and performance of job-related tasks.
- Provides support and guidance to ELL students.
- Creates a positive learning environment.
