About The Position

Elite Truck Driver / Traveling Driver – Class A - Penske Logistics. Go where you’re needed most—and get paid to do it. This isn’t a typical CDL‑A role. It’s designed for experienced, reliable drivers who want variety, flexibility, and the chance to make an impact. As part of Penske’s Elite Driver team, you’ll travel to support critical operations, help launch new business, and step in where strong drivers are needed most. If you’re adaptable, dependable, and take pride in getting the job done right, this is a unique opportunity to stand out. This role offers true flexibility—assignments are at least three weeks, with the option to extend and continue traveling as long as it works for you. You’re not assigned to just one route—you’re part of a national response team. You’ll be deployed to Penske locations across the country to support operations during special projects, help stabilize and improve performance, and assist with new account startups. For every 3 travel weeks worked, drivers are provided an option of for a home week or another travel week. Dispatch times and routes vary based on assignment.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
  • Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
  • 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years
  • 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
  • English language proficiency is required.
  • Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
  • This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.
  • Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.

  • Use scanners and onboard technology to ensure accurate deliveries
  • Drive safe, in well maintained vehicles s with best-in-class specs for comfort and safety – including inward and outward facing in-cab cameras for safety and protection
