About The Position

This is professional work supervising Economic Self-Sufficiency Specialists. The primary duty of this position is to communicate with, motivate, train and evaluate employees' performance; plan and direct their work; and to lead their team in such a manner that it enhances customer service and the goals of the agency. Applicants should have excellent people and computer skills and the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Requirements

  • An associate’s degree, or 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college, plus two years’ experience in the ESS program as an Economic Self-Sufficiency Specialist I or an Economic Self-Sufficiency Specialist II.
  • Paraprofessional experience in a position where the major responsibility was determining eligibility, conducting investigations, conducting interviews, providing counseling, recruiting, billing or collecting accounts, checking credit, processing insurance policies or claims, or providing customer service can substitute on a year for year basis for the required college education.
  • Applicants must meet the minimum requirements to be hired for this position.
  • A skills assessment test will be administered as part of the application process for this position.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures for all ACCESS programs.
  • Knowledge of interviewing techniques.
  • Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing and analyzing data.
  • Knowledge of applicable mainframe systems and software applications.
  • Skill in operating a personal computer.
  • Ability to supervise people.
  • Ability to coordinate the operations and activities of a unit.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex information concerning policies and procedures related to ACCESS programs.
  • Ability to develop and deliver public presentations.
  • Ability to investigate complaints.
  • Ability to meet and deal with the public in a variety of situations.
