About The Position

As an Elevator Operations Associate, you will be responsible for unloading wheat trucks and rail cars, running tests on wheat, processing appropriate paperwork, and blending wheat to the appropriate specifications as set forth by our clients. Work in a safe and professional manner with safety always being the top priority. Comply with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), and Regulatory mandates. Scale in and out wheat trucks/rail cars and create the required documentation such as wheat tickets. Make sure all the wheat trucks/rail cars meet the quality specifications and allocate storage according to type, grade, and quality. Work with computers to enter data such as wheat tickets, wheat transfers and wheat inventory. Must understand flow of wheat process from truck to mill. Be able to operate all elevating and conveying equipment. Know location of all controls, starters, and interlocks throughout the grain elevator. Perform basic preventative maintenance, housekeeping and sanitation duties on assigned area including silo cleaning and confined space and working on heights.

Requirements

  • Must be willing and able to work at least 8-Hour shifts but could work 10 to 12-hour shifts depending on business needs
  • Open to working 1st Shift, 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift when ship arrive
  • Must be willing to work Weekends, OT and Holidays as needed

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills required

  • Able to be trained in the proper and safe operation of vehicles used, such as locomotive and company truck
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as is required by the operating areas (i.e., safety glasses, protective footwear, hard hat, hearing protection and, at times, a respirator)
  • Ability to work a machine paced continuous process that operates with conditions which include: Hot/Cold temperatures (inclement weather), Indoor/Outdoor environment, Dusty environment (to include Wheat/Gluten allergens), Noisy environment, Frequent moving/vibration/ or other motion of equipment/processes, Elevated Places
  • Ability to perform work safely that may be required: Frequently standing, walking, rotating, bending/stooping, twisting, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and reaching or lifting at varying heights and levels
  • Frequently climbing stairs and/or ladders
  • Frequently lifting, shoveling and/or carrying 50-80 lbs
  • Occasionally pushing and/or pulling
  • Working in confined or elevated places
  • Team members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection

  • Maintain all proper documentation involved with the job
  • Operate all elevating and conveying equipment
  • Know location of all controls, starters, and interlocks throughout the grain elevator

  • Work with computers to complete all required documentation receiving of wheat trucks
  • Execute all duties safely while working in the elements all year round
  • Keep in close contact with all the Elevator team, Elevator Manager, Quality Manager, Sanitation Leader and Head Miller
  • Run all required quality tests
  • Prepare accurate unloading inventory on all rail cars and release empties to railroad ASAP
  • Ensure wheat is unloaded from trucks and rail cars correctly and in a timely manner
  • Perform basic maintenance duties as required
  • Ensure all Ardent Mills specifications are met when grading inbound wheat and when making wheat mixes
  • Comply with Master Sanitation Schedules and perform daily housekeeping assignments
  • Report any malfunctions or quality problems to supervisor
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as directed
  • Monitor process to ensure all requirements are met
  • Perform other duties as assigned
