About The Position

The Elevator Operator is responsible for loading and unloading the elevator with casegoods, keeping hardware boxes organized, and performing all duties safely. This role requires the ability to read and write, count, lift, stoop, and have operational knowledge of department tools. The position involves frequent lifting of 50-100 lbs, occasional lifting over 100 lbs, consistent standing and walking for 8+ hours, repetitive hand use, bending, stooping, pushing/pulling cases, and climbing ladders. The work environment is indoors with controlled airflow, and may or may not be air-conditioned.

Requirements

• Must be able to read and write, count, lift and stoop.
• Must be familiar with and have operational knowledge of department tools.
• English required for reading tickets and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload the elevator with casegoods.
• Keep hardware boxes organized and put back with furniture when it comes downstairs.
• Perform all duties safely and report any safety hazards to your immediate supervisor.
• Complete other assigned duties as directed by supervisor.
• Maintains neat and orderly work station; keeps equipment clean.
• Wear required safety glasses and work shoes; works safely and reports unsafe conditions to Dept. Supervisor.
• Performs required stretching exercises.
• Performs other duties as required by supervisor.
