About The Position

Work in a safe and professional manner with safety always being the top priority. Comply with GMP, HACCP, and Regulatory mandates. Must understand varieties and flow of wheat from receiving to elevator to mill. Must be able to operate track mobile after proper training (medically qualified to operate mobile equipment) Understand and operate all elevating and conveying equipment to move wheat safely. Know location of all controls, starters, and interlocks throughout the elevator Perform basic preventative maintenance, housekeeping and sanitation duties on assigned areas. Perform grain grading on incoming wheat and identify quality concerns during wheat movements.

  • Able to understand wheat grading and have or be able to obtain grain grading license.
  • Be able to learn flow of wheat through elevator and operation of related equipment.
  • Able to be trained in the proper and safe operation of vehicles used, such as Track mobile and tractor.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills
  • Minimum of a High School diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
  • Work outside in the extreme elements above 85 degrees and below 0 degrees.
  • Work in potentially dusty environments
  • Work in confined spaces or on elevated surfaces
  • Must be flexible in work schedule for all 3 shifts
  • Team members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all proper documentation is completed and filed appropriately.
  • Responsible for understanding and following all personnel and equipment safety policies; sanitation policies; following all corporate policies and procedures.
  • Wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, gloves) and task specific PPE (respiratory protection, goggles, etc.)
  • Must be willing and able to work additional hours which may include overtime, weekends, alternate shifts, and holidays.
  • Keep in close contact with Quality Manager, Production Supervisor, and Miller on scale and bin capacities.
  • Run all required quality tests.
  • Prepare accurate unloading inventory on all rail cars and release empties to railroad asap.
  • Be certain that wheat is unloaded from trucks and rail cars correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Perform basic maintenance duties as required.
  • Ensure all FGIS and Ardent Mills specifications are met when grading inbound wheat and when making wheat mixes.
  • Comply with Master Sanitation Schedules and perform daily housekeeping assignments.
  • Be responsible for reporting any malfunctions or quality problems to Production Supervisor or Quality Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
