This position will cover Washington DC, Virgina and Maryland. Office is located in Hunts Valley, MD.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Technical training in the field
Completion of an apprenticeship program (combining on-the-job training with classroom instruction, often sponsored by unions or industry associations, lasting four to five years)
Certification or licensure (required in many states and jurisdictions, typically involves passing an examination)
Good problem-solving abilities
Attention to detail
Prepared to work in various settings, at heights, and often in confined spaces

Responsibilities

Installing new elevators, including assembling components like cables, control systems, and doors.
Performing routine inspections and maintenance to ensure equipment operates reliably and safely.
Diagnosing and repairing faults in elevator systems which may involve mechanical, electrical, or electronic issues.
Modernizing and upgrading older elevator systems to meet current safety standards and technological advancements.
Responding to emergency breakdowns and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Consulting blueprints and manufacturer instructions to correctly install new elevator systems.
Testing newly installed equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety regulations.
Conducting regular maintenance, such as lubricating moving parts and replacing worn components.
Keeping detailed records of maintenance work, system performance, and repairs.
Communicating effectively with clients, building managers, and team members regarding the status of the elevator systems.
