About The Position

This position will cover Washington DC, Virgina and Maryland. Office is located in Hunts Valley, MD.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical training in the field
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program (combining on-the-job training with classroom instruction, often sponsored by unions or industry associations, lasting four to five years)
  • Certification or licensure (required in many states and jurisdictions, typically involves passing an examination)
  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail
  • Prepared to work in various settings, at heights, and often in confined spaces

Responsibilities

  • Installing new elevators, including assembling components like cables, control systems, and doors.
  • Performing routine inspections and maintenance to ensure equipment operates reliably and safely.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults in elevator systems which may involve mechanical, electrical, or electronic issues.
  • Modernizing and upgrading older elevator systems to meet current safety standards and technological advancements.
  • Responding to emergency breakdowns and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Consulting blueprints and manufacturer instructions to correctly install new elevator systems.
  • Testing newly installed equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Conducting regular maintenance, such as lubricating moving parts and replacing worn components.
  • Keeping detailed records of maintenance work, system performance, and repairs.
  • Communicating effectively with clients, building managers, and team members regarding the status of the elevator systems.
