About The Position
If you are a dedicated educator looking for consistent, professional tutoring work in San Francisco without the hassle of sourcing clients or managing billing, Tutor Doctor wants to hear from you. We match experienced, high-caliber tutors with K–5 students for one-on-one sessions. We handle all logistics so you focus entirely on teaching. We are a locally owned and operated tutoring service placing experienced tutors with families across San Francisco. Every tutor match is personally overseen by our owner — a credentialed educator with 20+ years in Bay Area schools. We take our tutors seriously, because when tutors thrive, students do too.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 4+ years of professional teaching or tutoring experience.
- Reliable, professional, and committed to long-term student growth
Nice To Haves
- Advanced degrees (Masters/PhD), general teaching credentials, or special education credentials are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one reading and math support for elementary students (K–5).
- Read and interpret student assessment results to inform instruction.
- Apply targeted teaching strategies based on assessment reports and student needs.
- Adapt instruction to each student's unique learning style and school curriculum.
- Support homework, classwork, and long-term skill building.
- Track student progress and communicate consistently with families and our team.
