ISP U.S. is seeking an Elementary Teacher to join their team. The role involves planning and implementing daily, weekly, and yearly goals and objectives according to students’ needs and within Fairmont’s overall curriculum guidelines. The teacher will promote Fairmont’s philosophy and actively work to develop a positive working environment. This position requires the use of technology for learning, designing learning opportunities, and facilitating student learning. The teacher will also design evaluation tools, test children routinely, keep records for progress reports, report cards, and conferences, and maintain an online gradebook. Analysis of pre and post-test information will be used for lesson planning and curriculum input. The role includes organizing and maintaining a safe, disciplined, yet stimulating academic classroom environment, planning and supervising special academic and social events, and arranging age-appropriate field trips. Maintaining a disciplined classroom, assuring awareness and consistency in applying rules, and reporting deviations to the Head of School are key responsibilities. The teacher will maintain ongoing positive communication with parents and staff, maintain appropriate confidentiality, and supervise recess duty and after-school detention/study hall as scheduled. A minimum of one hour of planned Academic Assistance per week is required. The teacher will support and attend school activities and events, participate in staff meetings and professional development, and demonstrate follow-through in classroom application. Understanding and conveying Fairmont’s policies, procedures, and philosophies, including emergency procedures, is essential. Continuous professional development through reading, workshops, and conferences is expected. The teacher must follow Fairmont Schools dress code policy and set a good example for students by arriving on time, dressing professionally, planning creative and productive lessons, and promptly evaluating and returning student work. Other duties as directed by the Head of School/Associate Head of School will be carried out.
