About The Position

At Legacy Traditional Schools, we are seeking passionate Elementary Teachers to join our team in the West Valley. As a General Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in changing lives through education by motivating students to achieve academic excellence. You will provide direct instruction using an accelerated, back-to-basics curriculum, including Spalding (reading & writing) and enVision Math. Your responsibilities will include implementing instructional activities that foster student engagement, identifying and modifying resources to meet diverse student needs, and utilizing direct instruction techniques to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth essential for primary school success. You will also assist in assessing curricular needs, maintaining effective record-keeping, communicating with students, parents, and professionals, collaborating with peers, and modeling professional and ethical standards. Ensuring continuous and appropriate student growth and achievement, participating in training and staff meetings, and meeting professional obligations are key aspects of this role. You will evaluate student capabilities, celebrate accomplishments, and encourage students to uphold school values and model mature behavior. This role involves light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus, and potentially traveling to other campuses. Participation in events outside of normal hours may also be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Valid SEI Endorsement/Certification or ability to obtain.
  • Must pass a criminal history background check.

  • A current teaching certificate from within the state position is located.

Responsibilities

  • Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
  • Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide our students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth that is needed for primary school success!
  • Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
  • Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
  • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
  • Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
  • Participate in training and staff meetings.
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and coordinating meetings as needed.
  • Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.
  • Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.
  • Be active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus and traveling to other campuses as required.
  • Participate in events outside of normal hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.
