Elementary Teacher (K–2nd Grade)
About The Position
Colorado Springs Christian Schools (CSCS) is seeking an Elementary Teacher for K-2nd Grade. Founded in 1971, CSCS is a private, non-denominational school accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI). CSCS exists to provide an excellent education from a Christ-centered, biblical perspective for lifelong service. All employees are viewed as ministers of the Gospel, and duties such as leading devotions, prayer, Scripture reading, and integrating biblical truths in daily job responsibilities are integral to all employment positions. The ideal candidate demonstrates spiritual maturity, sensitivity to the spiritual needs of students and colleagues, and a commitment to the school's mission and values.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
- Has or able to obtain an Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) teacher certificate
- Has or able to obtain CPR & First Aid training
- Demonstrates a spiritual maturity in attitude, actions and speech, showing a consistent walk with Jesus Christ
- In all work, is sensitive to the spiritual needs of students and parents, and co-workers
- Affirm, in writing, commitment to the Doctrinal Statement annually by contract
Responsibilities
- Effectively integrate biblical truths throughout academic teachings
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established curriculum goals
- Employ a variety of instructional and technological techniques and strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students
- Prepare appropriately for classes and show written evidence of preparation, including lesson plans
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning; includes appropriate code of conduct policy
- Monitor and assess academic progress; communicate with parents and administrators regarding the progress and potential of students
- Maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date records including grades
- Knowledge of and desire to use relevant and emerging technologies in the classroom
- Coordinate and supervise class field trips
- All other duties as assigned
- Commits and fully support the missional and organizational standards including our Core Values, Mission Statement and Doctrinal Statement
