About The Position

Friendly Academy is a K-5 charter school dedicated to providing a holistic education rooted in love and grounded in academic excellence. As a Teacher at Friendly Academy, you will be at the forefront of delivering high-quality instruction, nurturing the intellectual, emotional, and social growth of our students. Teachers work closely with the Director of Academics and other staff to uphold our high educational standards and foster an inclusive, supportive, and dynamic classroom environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field
MO Teacher Certification required
Teaching experience, preferably in a K-5 setting
Knowledge of high quality instructional material, best educational practices, and classroom management strategies
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Responsibilities

Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons aligned with Friendly Academy's academic framework, focusing on literacy, personalized learning, and student engagement.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, providing additional support where needed to ensure all students thrive academically and socially/emotionally.
Participate in grade-level and content-area team meetings, sharing insights and working together to implement curriculum and improve student outcomes.
Regularly assess student progress through both formative and summative assessments, using data to inform instruction and provide feedback to students and families.
Build strong partnerships with families, communicating regularly about student progress and supporting them in their child’s educational journey.
Actively participate in professional development opportunities to grow as an educator and contribute to the development of the school’s academic programs and culture.
Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and kindness. Implement the school’s behavior management strategies and support student growth in social-emotional learning.
Engage in student recruitment efforts by sharing Friendly Academy’s vision with prospective families and contributing to a strong, inclusive school community.
