About The Position

Westbury Christian School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Elementary Teacher to join our Lower School team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Science of Teaching Reading, early literacy development, effective math instruction, and a passion for creating a dynamic and Christ-centered learning environment for young learners. All employees of Westbury Christian School must affirm and fully support the school's Statement of Faith and Guiding Biblical Principles.

Requirements

  • Committed Christian who is a faithful member of a local Christian church.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certificate.
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
  • Creative, motivated, and dedicated to helping students reach their full potential.
  • Alignment with the school's core values: relational, growth mindset, teamwork, commitment, and creativity.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous elementary teaching experience preferred; new graduates with strong enthusiasm for early education are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver dynamic lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum, Christian values, and state standards.
  • Integrate faith and learning in meaningful and relevant ways.
  • Create a positive, safe, and Christ-centered learning environment that fosters student growth and development.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to improve performance and language skills.
  • Foster a love of learning and curiosity that is infused with joy
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and other community initiatives.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and support.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school's continuous improvement.
  • Uphold the school's mission, values, and policies.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student success and the overall school community.
  • Attend faculty meetings, professional development days, and school events as required.
  • Support and participate in the school’s faith development programs.
