The Elementary Teacher will educate all students substantially and effectively by demonstrating professional leadership, assessing and communicating learning results, demonstrating knowledge of content, reflecting/evaluating teaching/learning, designing and planning instruction, collaborating with colleagues/parents/others, creating and maintaining a learning climate, engaging in professional development, implementing and managing instruction, and demonstrating the implementation of technology. This role involves implementing all rules and regulations, policies, and administrative guidelines, maintaining accurate records, guiding the learning process towards curriculum goals with clear objectives and assessments, meeting and instructing assigned classes, planning a program of study that meets individual student needs, creating a conducive classroom environment, preparing for classes, taking precautions to protect students and materials, being available for students and parents, striving to improve professional competence, attending staff meetings, promoting positive public relations, contacting administration when absent, remaining at school, maintaining a professional appearance, incorporating technology, and maintaining regular attendance. The teacher must adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics.
