About The Position
Ascend Academy is seeking passionate Elementary Teachers (K–5) to join our founding instructional team as we prepare to open in Fall 2026. This is a unique opportunity to help build a positive school culture, shape instructional practices, and make a lasting impact on students and families in the Battle Creek community. At Ascend Academy, teachers play a key role in creating engaging classrooms where students are supported academically, socially, and emotionally.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement(s)
- Must meet Michigan Department of Education requirements for highly qualified teachers
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum and learning objectives
- Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor and assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation
- Communicate regularly with parents and school staff regarding student progress
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities
