About The Position

The Elementary Teacher at Edgar Rd Elementary is responsible for planning and delivering a program of instruction that meets students’ needs, is consistent with good practice, and fulfills the expectations criteria for teachers as identified in the Webster Groves School District teacher evaluation tool. This role requires a commitment to fostering student growth both academically and personally, utilizing diverse teaching practices, and supporting a diverse group of students. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, build partnerships with parents, and contribute to district and building-level initiatives with a focus on equity and student success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Major or Minor in content area required.
  • Requires Missouri teacher certification with required endorsements for the subject and level assigned.
  • Project positivity, optimism, and joy in all aspects of work.
  • Passionate about growing students both academically and personally.
  • Respect for student voice and choice.
  • Strong knowledge of varied teaching practices and the ability to implement them in support of student learning.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills that value relationship building with staff, students, families, and the community.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize many different teaching practices and instructional strategies.
  • Implement standards in a variety of ways.

  • Maximize learning experiences for a diverse group of students while building on students’ strengths and interests.
  • Assess and interpret results of assessments to provide instruction and enrichment in accordance with a student’s individualized needs.
  • Be an intricate part of a collaborative learning team that continually uses formative and summative data to ensure all students make academic and personal growth.
  • Share ideas and observations with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Develop a cooperative partnership with parents and students based on mutual respect and objectivity.
