About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Building Principal, the Elementary Teacher provides high-quality instruction that promotes academic excellence, critical thinking, creativity, and social-emotional development while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. The teacher develops and implements standards-based instruction aligned with the Minnesota K-12 Academic Standards and collaborates with colleagues, families, and support staff to ensure the success of all learners.

Requirements

Applicants must hold or be eligible for a current Minnesota Elementary Education (K-6) teaching license.
Bachelor's degree required.
Appropriate Minnesota teaching licensure required.
Knowledge of effective elementary instructional practices, curriculum development, and assessment strategies.
Knowledge of Minnesota K-12 Academic Standards and age-appropriate instructional practices.
Knowledge of literacy and mathematics instruction and best practices for elementary learners.
Knowledge of classroom management strategies, positive behavior supports, and social-emotional learning.
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Ability to develop engaging, student-centered learning experiences that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, families, colleagues, and community members.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions.
Proficiency with instructional technology and digital learning tools.
Commitment to continuous professional growth, collaboration, and reflective practice.

Nice To Haves

Previous elementary teaching experience preferred.
Experience implementing evidence-based literacy and mathematics instruction preferred.
Experience working collaboratively within Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) preferred.

Responsibilities

Plans and delivers engaging, standards-aligned instruction across the elementary curriculum utilizing a variety of research-based instructional strategies.
Creates a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, academic achievement, and social-emotional growth.
Develops lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with district curriculum and Minnesota Academic Standards.
Utilizes formative and summative assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual learning needs.
Differentiates instruction to support students with diverse academic, cultural, linguistic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
Maintains accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress.
Integrates instructional technology and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning.
Collaborates with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff to improve instructional practices and student achievement.
Establishes positive relationships with students, families, and staff through effective communication and collaboration.
Participates in Individualized Education Program (IEP), Section 504, Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), and other student support meetings as appropriate.
Supervises students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, buses, and other assigned areas to ensure a safe learning environment.
Creates and maintains an organized, engaging classroom environment that supports student learning.
Participates in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), staff meetings, curriculum work, and district professional development activities.
Supports district initiatives related to instructional improvement, literacy, mathematics, school climate, and student achievement.
Maintains professional competence through continued professional learning and participation in professional organizations.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Building Principal or Superintendent.
Assists with school activities, committees, family engagement events, and other responsibilities that contribute to the overall success of the school.
