About The Position
PLA Teachers are passionate and devoted leaders who bring creativity and rigor to their classrooms to improve scholars’ learning experiences. They build caring environments that nurture the success of the school community and ensure scholars master the academic and social skills necessary to succeed. Teachers set ambitious student achievement goals and hold scholars accountable for reaching them. They create powerful learning environments, plan and deliver rigorous instruction, assess mastery, track scholar progress, and intervene or adjust instruction as needed. This role is at PLA @ Davis Elementary School in Montgomery, Alabama. The school works with parents and the community to improve educational outcomes and provide a safe, supportive environment where scholars feel loved, empowered, and encouraged through quality education.
Requirements
- Passion for working with students and families in underserved communities.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university, with appropriate endorsements if applicable.
- Valid state teacher license or enrollment in a credentialing program.
- Effective pedagogical skills driven by standards and data-driven assessment.
- Experience tracking and using data to drive instruction.
Responsibilities
- Set ambitious goals for student achievement and hold scholars accountable for accomplishing them.
