About The Position

BASIS Chandler Primary North is seeking an Elementary Teacher for an immediate start. In this co-teaching role, the Learning Expert Teacher (LET) works with Subject Expert Teachers (SETs), who handle the main instruction, allowing the LET to focus on students’ individual learning needs and outcomes. LETs cultivate a joyful learning culture, customize instruction for students, and use their elementary education expertise to support differentiated learning. Classrooms in grades K–3 (or K–4, depending on campus) are co-taught by two elementary teachers. BASIS teachers use the BASIS Charter School Curriculum and have autonomy and academic freedom to create dynamic lessons that foster student enthusiasm and high-level learning.

The position is responsible for a cohort of students and supports them through classroom transitions, collaborates with SETs, provides individualized or small-group instruction, and establishes classroom behavior standards that support a functional learning environment. Salary is competitive and depends on education and experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree.
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Demonstrated passion for student achievement and directed effort to raise individual student outcomes.
• Strong technology skills.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for one cohort of students and lead them through classroom transitions during the day.
• Collaborate with the Subject Expert Teacher for each class period.
• Use elementary education teaching expertise to provide individualized or small-group instruction that meets students’ differentiated needs.
• Establish and maintain student behavior standards needed to achieve a functional classroom learning atmosphere.
