About The Position

The LifeWorks School in Media, PA is actively hiring for an Elementary Teacher for the 2026-2027 Academic School Year. The LifeWorks Schools are licensed specialty therapeutic day schools for students in middle and high school affected by social, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. LifeWorks' comprehensive educational curriculum is individualized and designed to actively engage each student throughout the day to achieve positive, pro-social behavioral and educational outcomes. The Elementary Teacher provides academic and functional instruction to students diagnosed with Autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorder in a school setting; monitors student academic and functional achievement through data collection, observation, and other quantitative methods; observes and records student progress daily; develops and monitors student’s IEP, reports, goals, objectives, attends IEP meetings, establishes, maintains, and works toward student goals as outlined in the IEP; manages student behavior through individualized motivational systems, S.M.A.R.T. Program and positive behavior support plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s level degree in Education or Special Education required.

Nice To Haves

  • PA certification in Special Education is preferred.
  • Content area certifications preferred.
  • Prior experience working with students with behavioral health challenges within a school setting preferred.

Responsibilities
