About The Position

The teaching assistant position is to support and collaborate with the lead classroom teacher as directed, by providing instruction to students, and assisting the classroom teacher in instructional preparation. This position may also include scheduled time assisting in the school office with administrative and clerical responsibilities, along with providing supervision and support for duties such as lunch, carline, recess, and other school-related activities as assigned.

• A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school
• Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith for the Christian Academy School System
• Agreement and belief that the Bible is the final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• State teaching certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead small groups for phonemic awareness activities and provide informal data to the lead classroom teacher
• Lead small groups for re-teaching concepts in math, reading, or other subjects as determined and provide informal data to the lead classroom teacher
• Comply with lead classroom teacher's sequence for the presentation of concepts
• Comply with lead classroom teacher's classroom management system
• Accompany students to special area classes and assist as needed
• Prepare instructional materials for teaching (cutting, coloring, stapling, collating, pasting, etc.)
• Grade papers/tests
• Serve as a substitute teacher when the lead classroom teacher is absent
• Perform other duties as assigned
