About The Position

North Wasco County School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Grade 4/5 Elementary Teacher. Requirements

BA/BS or higher degree with a major in one or more of the following areas: Curriculum, Elementary Education, Reading, Early Childhood Education, or similar.
Valid Oregon Teaching License (Must meet Highly Qualified Requirements).
Skills to motivate students.
Skills to communicate with individuals from varied educational and cultural backgrounds.
Skills to direct support personnel.
Skills to evaluate performance.
Knowledge of age appropriate teaching methods.
Knowledge of state curriculum framework.
Knowledge of education code.
Knowledge of appropriate instructional subjects.
Holds and maintains an appropriate license and endorsement(s) from the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission in the State of Oregon.
Displays a willingness to teach any qualified subject area.

Responsibilities

Developing students’ academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implementing District approved curriculum.
Documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes.
Addressing specific educational needs of students.
Providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
Providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
