Requirements

  • Previous elementary teaching experience.
  • Spiritually vibrant Christian who demonstrates Christ-centered servant leadership.
  • Passion for educating children through a biblical worldview.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrates humility, professionalism, and a desire for continuous learning and growth.
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment and contributes positively to the school community.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field preferred.
  • Teaching certification preferred or ability to obtain certification if required.
  • Classical Christian education experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a comprehensive 4th grade curriculum while integrating biblical truth throughout every subject.
  • Implement classical teaching methods, including poetry, chants, songs, memorization, discussion, and the classical tools of the Trivium.
  • Create an engaging, organized, and Christ-centered classroom where students are challenged to grow academically and spiritually.
  • Collaborate weekly with Grade Level Teachers, Department Leads, and School Leadership to ensure consistency in curriculum, pacing, projects, and student success.
  • Build meaningful relationships with students while encouraging character development, responsibility, respect, and servant leadership.
  • Establish classroom routines that promote organization, independence, and a positive learning environment.
  • Maintain consistent communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
  • Utilize Canvas to maintain accurate gradebooks, assignments, and course information.
  • Assess student learning through formal and informal evaluations while providing meaningful feedback.
  • Support students through academic and behavioral growth while partnering with school leadership to implement appropriate interventions when needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation regarding student progress and parent communication.
  • Ensure report cards accurately reflect each student's academic performance, character development, and growth.
  • Uphold all academy policies and contribute positively to the school's Christ-centered culture.
  • Supervise students during lunch, recess, carline, homeroom, and other assigned duties.
  • Participate in school events including Back-to-School Night, Parent-Teacher Conferences, Recitation Night, and other community activities.
  • Pursue ongoing professional and spiritual growth through mentorship and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a supportive, encouraging, and mission-focused faculty culture.
