About The Position

BASIS Phoenix South is currently seeking enthusiastic and passionate individuals for a 1st Grade Elementary Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Our Phoenix South campus is a Title I School, which means it serves a high percentage of students from low-income families and qualifies for additional funds and support to help ensure all children have the opportunity to be successful. As a BASIS Ed Elementary Learning Expert Teacher (LET), you will use your expertise to address the differentiated needs of your students. In collaboration with Subject Expert Teachers (SETs) who handle the main instruction, you will focus on individual student results and needs to raise their ability to learn. Our K-3 (or K-4) classrooms are co-taught by two elementary school teachers who co-create with students at all times. LETs cultivate a joyful learning culture where hard work is celebrated and intellectual pursuits result in extraordinary student outcomes. They customize education to meet individual student needs, guided by the belief that any child can excel. BASIS teachers celebrate the art of elementary education and ensure each student receives a world-class education.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree.
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Demonstrated passion for student achievement and directed effort to raise individual student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for one cohort of students and lead them through classroom transitions during the day.
• Collaborate work with the Subject Expert Teacher (SET) for each class period.
• Utilize expertise in elementary education teaching methods to provide individualized or small group instruction to meet the differentiated needs of students.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
