About The Position

To provide high-quality instruction and classroom management for students in grades PK–5 when the regular teacher is absent. The primary goal is to follow the established curriculum and ensure a safe, productive, and consistent learning environment.

Requirements

• Ability to follow and implement daily lesson plans for core subjects.
• Skill in maintaining classroom order and managing student transitions.
• Commitment to ensuring student safety at all times.
• Proficiency in taking accurate attendance and lunch counts.
• Ability to collect completed student work.
• Capability to leave a detailed end-of-day report.

Responsibilities

• Follow and implement the teacher’s daily lesson plans for core subjects (Math, Reading, Science, Social Studies).
• Maintain order using the teacher's established rules; manage student transitions between subjects, lunch, and recess.
• Ensure student safety at all times, including during hallway transitions, playground duty, and dismissal.
• Take accurate attendance and lunch counts; collect completed student work.
• Leave a detailed end-of-day report for the permanent teacher regarding student progress, behavior, and any incomplete tasks.
