About The Position

Crossroads Charter Schools is seeking highly effective, qualified, and motivated individuals for the Elementary STEM Teacher position for the 2026-2027 School Year. The primary responsibilities of this role include supporting the instructional process as a facilitator of learning, developing lesson plans, delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines, collaborating with other staff on classroom and school issues, and responding to parent inquiries. The ideal candidate will have experience with the workshop model and project-based learning, possess excellent subject knowledge, and have a strong understanding of Missouri Learning Standards and Common Core Standards. The teacher should be motivated to inspire students academically and socially, and collaborate with staff to individualize instruction, accommodate diverse student needs, and overcome instructional challenges constructively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education
  • Valid Missouri teaching certificate
  • Demonstrated success in urban education
  • Must pass an extensive background check.

Responsibilities

  • Establish weekly objectives that align with the Common Core and Missouri Learning Standards.
  • Facilitate “hands-on” activities and projects that allow students to learn by doing and exploring.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom.
  • Use discipline models of BIST and Love & Logic to maintain a positive, encouraging learning environment.
  • Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Identify, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
  • Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
  • Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
  • Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
  • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
  • Assume responsibility for meeting his/her course and school-wide student performance goals.
  • Demonstrate gains in student performance.
  • Participate in meetings, training, and professional development.
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating, etc.
