About The Position

At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Murrieta, CA! If you're committed to making a difference in the lives of students with special needs and helping them achieve academic success, we want to hear from you! As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Murrieta, CA.

Requirements

• Experience working with students with autism and ADHD
• Background in special education or supporting students with IEPs
• Strong understanding of reading comprehension strategies (main idea, inference, recall)
• Experience teaching early writing skills, including sentence formation, paragraph development, and fine motor support
• Solid foundation in elementary math instruction (addition, subtraction, multiplication)
• Skilled in using multisensory strategies, repetition, and scaffolding
• Familiarity with ABA-informed strategies and structured learning approaches
• Patient, energetic, and engaging, with the ability to maintain student motivation
• Comfortable conducting an academic assessment to guide instruction

Nice To Haves

• SPED credential highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct an initial tutor assessment to identify current academic levels and skill gaps
• Provide individualized instruction in reading, focusing on comprehension, fluency, and retention
• Support writing development, including handwriting, sentence construction, and paragraph organization
• Deliver math instruction focused on foundational skills such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication
• Use step-by-step instruction, manipulatives, and visual supports to reinforce math concepts
• Implement multisensory teaching strategies and repeated practice to support retention
• Structure sessions with clear routines, expectations, and consistent pacing
• Incorporate engaging, interest-based activities (e.g., Ninja Turtles, toys, active play) to maintain motivation
• Provide encouragement and positive reinforcement to build confidence and reduce frustration
• Collaborate with caregivers by providing updates and adjusting strategies as needed
• Maintain a supportive, structured, and engaging learning environment
