About The Position

Join us at Soccer Stars and help kids build confidence, develop soccer skills, and have fun in a positive, supportive environment! We're looking for energetic, dependable coaches who enjoy working with children and are passionate about creating an encouraging team experience. No two practices are the same - you'll lead engaging activities, teach age-appropriate soccer skills, and help young athletes grow both on and off the field. We partner with many elementary schools across the Phoenix-East Valley to provide an introductory, recreational soccer program. Most schools have more than one team. Teams are broken up by age group, with a different coach for each team. Classes are held once a week on-campus after school (usually between 3pm-4pm). We hold one to two game days per month from October through December on Saturdays. Coaches typically go to more than one school throughout the week and coach multiple different teams.

Requirements

Strong communication and leadership skills.
Reliable, enthusiastic, and team-oriented.

Nice To Haves

Experience coaching or working with children is preferred.
Soccer playing or coaching experience is a plus.
Coaching certifications are welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

Lead fun, organized practices on weekday afternoons and coach league games on select Saturdays.
Teach soccer fundamentals, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
Create a welcoming environment where every player can succeed.
Communicate with families and program staff as needed.
Be a positive role model for players.
