About The Position

Supervise Elementary (K-5) children and support K-5 faculty. This role involves monitoring children during indoor and outdoor activities, providing programmatic support to faculty, communicating effectively with diverse groups, and enforcing school rules and safety guidelines. The position also emphasizes school safety, professional development, fostering effective relationships, establishing an inclusive environment, and leadership.

Requirements

  • Completed high school degree
  • Prior experience working with children, ages 5-11
  • Criminal background clearance with Mid-Pacific
  • Tuberculin skin test clearance
  • At least 2 professional work references

  • At least 2 years of college experience
  • At least 2 years of experience working with young children

Responsibilities

  • Monitor children during indoor and outdoor activities, both structured and informal, 8:00am-2:30pm.
  • Provide programmatic support to the faculty related to supervision, e.g. morning (7:00-7:50am) and afternoon (2:30-3:00pm) autoline.
  • Communicate respectfully and effectively with diverse groups of young people and adults of various cultural backgrounds and learning needs.
  • Enforce school rules and behavioral expectations, especially those related to safety and health guidelines set by the CDC and DOH.
  • Provide close supervision and maintain a safe environment for children.
  • Regular and predictable attendance at work.
  • Provides in-person support and service.
  • Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Comply with the instructions given for their own safety and health and that of others, in adhering to safe work procedures.
  • Take reasonable care to ensure their own safety and health and that of others.
  • Report any injury, hazard or illness immediately to their Supervisor and Human Resources.
  • Not place others at risk by any act or omission, not willfully or recklessly interfere with safety equipment.
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviors.
  • Identify, assess if necessary, and control hazards within the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure that equipment/supplies are properly maintained.
  • Maintain relevant knowledge of safety laws.
  • Mandatory reporting of sexual abuse to law enforcement or child protective services, and Human Resources.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of practice area knowledge and appreciates learning more about this practice area and beyond.
  • Engages in career-long professional learning and ongoing critical reflection to identify opportunities for improving leadership, mentoring, and collaboration.
