Uncommon Schools is seeking an Elementary School Social Worker to provide direct services to the elementary school community. This role involves crisis intervention, behavior management, individual and group counseling, and developing curriculum for social and emotional development. The social worker will also identify students and families who may benefit from counseling, refer individuals to external resources, and manage records and compliance activities. Additionally, the position serves as a Case Manager and member of the Child Study Team, focusing on strengthening parent and family involvement, planning school-based interventions with educators, and partnering with community agencies. The goal is to help students and families with learning, behavior, and attendance concerns while fostering strong home, school, and community partnerships. The role requires evaluating students and their environmental factors, implementing school systems and culture, communicating effectively, and responding promptly to family concerns. A commitment to professional growth, participation in staff orientation and training, and sharing responsibility for school-wide activities are also key components of this position. This includes assisting with school duties and attending events outside of normal school hours, as well as collaborating with teachers on professional development activities and adhering to school policies.
