About The Position

Our elementary school (Match Community Day) is accepting applications for a Science Teacher to start in the 2026-2027 school year. The position is based at our elementary school campus on 100 Poydras St. in Hyde Park. The compensation for Match teaching positions ranges from $61,812-$98,899 and is based on a candidate’s prior years of teaching experience. Requirements

have at least two years of full-time experience as classroom or special education teacher, preferably in an urban education setting
hold a valid and appropriate license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, or can meet the licensure requirements within a year of date of hire
believe that all students can and will succeed
desire to continually improve their practice as a teacher by taking and implementing feedback
have a proven record of student success and achievement.

Responsibilities

Teach elementary level science classes to one grade of students
Develop daily lessons and assessments aligned with Match’s Science curriculum in collaboration with department colleagues and leadership team members
Serve as an integral part of the Science department, including covering additional science courses in other grades when needed due to teammates’ absences
Contribute to intervention, clubs, or other academic programming on Fridays (MCD students are dismissed early on Fridays, so Science courses happen Monday-Thursday).
Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students, and provide lots of support for getting students there
Participate actively in Match’s coaching and professional development programming
Assist with school programming as needed during non-instructional time (e.g. arrival, lunch and dismissal)
Serve as a positive and collaborative member of the Match Charter Public School community
