About The Position

An Elementary School Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher provides specialized individual and small group instruction to students with disabilities while monitoring students’ progress toward goal acquisition. They assess transition skills, prepare students for positive post-secondary outcomes, and support general education teachers as they instruct students with disabilities in the general education environment. They develop and implement Individualized Education Plans; meet with parents, educational teams, and outside agencies to develop educational service plans for students; and coordinate services across a multidisciplinary team to improve educational outcomes for students with disabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher or foreign equivalent in Education or related fields.
  • NC teaching license.
