About The Position

The Athletic Coach is responsible for leading and developing a successful athletic program that supports the academic, social, emotional, and athletic growth of student-athletes. Coaches are expected to model professionalism, sportsmanship, integrity, and leadership while creating a safe, structured, and positive team culture aligned with the mission and vision of the school athletic program. Coaches must promote student-athlete development, academic accountability, discipline, teamwork, and a college-ready mindset through daily instruction, communication, and program leadership. The role focuses on introducing athletics and skill development, building confidence, teamwork, and enjoyment of sports, teaching sportsmanship and basic game knowledge, and encouraging participation and positive behavior. The Elementary Coach is expected to create a fun, safe, and instructional environment, focus on fundamentals and age-appropriate development, emphasize character building and teamwork over competition, maintain strong communication with families and school staff, and encourage student participation and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Previous coaching and/or playing experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, families, and administration.
  • Knowledge of sport-specific rules, strategies, and player development.
  • Ability to supervise and manage student-athletes effectively.
  • Must meet all district and athletic compliance requirements.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
