About The Position

The San Diego Unified School District is seeking to fill the position of Elementary School Assistant - Bilingual (English/Spanish) at Hawthorne Elementary. This is a promotional/open opportunity for candidates who have been pre-qualified for the Elementary School Assistant role. Requirements

  • Must be PRE-QUALIFIED for Elementary School Assistant.
  • Must have successfully passed the related requirements and exam process for the Pre-Qualified Pool.
  • Must submit a completed online employment application by the closing date.
  • Application must include all required attachments, current and previous employment history, and education.
  • Must answer all application questions thoroughly, clearly, and concisely.
  • Must provide contact information for all previous places of employment where served in a classified (non-certificated) position.
  • Must provide a complete list of every school district, county office of education, charter school, and/or state special school (Local Education Agency - LEA) with which you have previously been employed, regardless of length of service.
  • Must provide the email address for each employer's Human Resources or Personnel Office.
  • Must list contact information for three references, preferably from a current or previous supervisor.
  • Must attach Verification of Education (Copy of a degree or official transcript, Copy of Licenses and/or Certifications).
  • For foreign education, a Foreign Equivalency Certification must be provided.

Nice To Haves

  • Current monthly salaried employees receive precedence over other candidates (for promotional/open postings).
  • A resume may be attached but does not substitute for completing the work history, education sections, or application questions.
  • Letters of Recommendation are accepted.
  • Cover Letter / Letter of Intent is optional.

Responsibilities

  • Relieve the workload of a site administrator and staff by performing delegated administrative duties.
  • Accomplish assigned projects.
  • Coordinate school activities as assigned.
