About The Position

The Chandler School is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of Adjustment Counselor for the 2026-2027 school year. This role focuses on supporting the emotional and behavioral needs of students in grades PreK-2, strengthening home-school partnerships, and serving as a resource for families. The school is a Preschool - 2 early childhood school with 665 students and 140 dedicated staff members, committed to fostering strong self-esteem, individual development, respect for others, and a solid knowledge base for all children. The school district is dedicated to affirming each student's unique identity and creating a welcoming, equitable learning environment free from discrimination.

Requirements

Current certification from Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education - School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor - All Levels
Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
Experience meeting the social-emotional needs of students in grades 3-5
Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

Consult with administration, teachers, support staff and families to support the emotional and behavioral needs of all students
Support students as they build coping skills and develop resilience in order to better manage challenges
Strengthen the home to school partnerships to bolster student success
Serve as a resource for families to access community based services
Collaborate with outside therapists to increase effectiveness of interventions
