Provide instruction and support to students in grades K-2 who are experiencing difficulties with reading.
Requirements
Master’s degree and reading licensure required
Familiarity with district benchmark testing programs, progress monitoring and data interpretation
Responsibilities
Use of both formal and informal assessments to diagnose the strengths and needs of students
Interpret assessment information for tailored instruction
Implementation of strategies/reading programs adopted by school district
Provide assistance to classroom teachers to promote carryover of strategies and optimal learning
Participate in parent conferences, answer parent concerns, act as resource to parents to encourage support of their child’s reading/language arts development
Participate in SST (student support team) as warranted
Plan, facilitate and present reading information and data at grade level meetings and CPT
