About The Position

Provide instruction and support to students in grades K-2 who are experiencing difficulties with reading.

Requirements

• Master’s degree and reading licensure required
• Familiarity with district benchmark testing programs, progress monitoring and data interpretation

Responsibilities

• Use of both formal and informal assessments to diagnose the strengths and needs of students
• Interpret assessment information for tailored instruction
• Implementation of strategies/reading programs adopted by school district
• Provide assistance to classroom teachers to promote carryover of strategies and optimal learning
• Participate in parent conferences, answer parent concerns, act as resource to parents to encourage support of their child’s reading/language arts development
• Participate in SST (student support team) as warranted
• Plan, facilitate and present reading information and data at grade level meetings and CPT
• Other duties as assigned by the school principal
