Lighthouse Connections Academy (LCA) is a tuition-free K–12 online public school that students attend from home. Authorized by Oxford Community Schools, Lighthouse Connections Academy is state certified and open to students located throughout Michigan including Troy, Royal Oak, Bloomfield Hills, Rochester, Farmington, and beyond. Working from our office in Southfield, Michigan, or a personal home office, the Elementary Reading Interventionist will support LCA’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) using the Response to Intervention Framework (RTI). The Elementary Reading Interventionist coordinates the push-in and pull-out support in planning instruction and/or adaptation of the instructional program using the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) model to facilitate student learning in accordance with district policies and state guidelines. The Elementary Reading Interventionist designs and implements specific strategies designed to promote intellectual, social, and physical growth in all students identified for academic intervention. The Elementary Reading Interventionist evaluates and measures the effectiveness of specific MTSS strategies and interventions in order to refine Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 levels of support. The Elementary Reading Interventionist supports the instructional programs with regular and special education teachers. Most of the Elementary Reading Interventionist’s responsibilities will include providing intensive, research-based interventions for Tier 3 students.
