QUALIFICATIONS A Master's degree from an accredited college or university. A valid Arizona administrative certificate or eligibility to obtain. Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience. Minimum of three (3) years building level administrative experience, preferred. Evidence of professional growth in K-6 instructional practices in the last five (5) years. Preference may be given to applicants who have one or more of the following: Principal/Assistant Principal of a building within the last five (5) years; Administrative experience to include staff development, supervision of special needs, shared decision making, curriculum development, and budget development; Successful grant writing experience, implementation, or management; Experience with the implementation of computer technology into curriculum within last three (3) years; Interpersonal and written communication skills Experience with Federal Title I programs Experience with second language programs (ELL/SEI) PERFORMANCE STANDARDS The principal fosters the success of all students by facilitating the development, communication, implementation, and evaluation of a shared vision of teaching and learning that leads to student academic progress and school improvement. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions. Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and problem-solving skills Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills Knowledge of the basic course content for students; and, educational goals and objectives. Knowledge of accepted behavior management techniques and practices working with persons with disabilities. Ability to operate computer equipment for email communications, word processing, data management, and other assigned tasks as related to the position. Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents, and community members. Utilize, with fidelity, the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level. Ability to understand and maintain students' and parents' rights to confidentiality and not violate those rights; nor discuss students in inappropriate places or with anyone not in direct contact with such individual students.
