QUALIFICATIONS A Master's degree from an accredited college or university. A valid Arizona administrative certificate or eligibility to obtain. Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience. Minimum of three (3) years building level administrative experience, preferred. Evidence of professional growth in K-6 instructional practices in the last five (5) years. Preference may be given to applicants who have one or more of the following: Principal/Assistant Principal of a building within the last five (5) years; Administrative experience to include staff development, supervision of special needs, shared decision making, curriculum development, and budget development; Successful grant writing experience, implementation, or management; Experience with the implementation of computer technology into curriculum within last three (3) years; Interpersonal and written communication skills Experience with Federal Title I programs Experience with second language programs (ELL/SEI) PERFORMANCE STANDARDS The principal fosters the success of all students by facilitating the development, communication, implementation, and evaluation of a shared vision of teaching and learning that leads to student academic progress and school improvement. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions. Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and problem-solving skills Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills Knowledge of the basic course content for students; and, educational goals and objectives. Knowledge of accepted behavior management techniques and practices working with persons with disabilities. Ability to operate computer equipment for email communications, word processing, data management, and other assigned tasks as related to the position. Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents, and community members. Utilize, with fidelity, the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level. Ability to understand and maintain students' and parents' rights to confidentiality and not violate those rights; nor discuss students in inappropriate places or with anyone not in direct contact with such individual students. Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position, is held in the highest of confidentiality. Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws, district procedures, and Board policies, including mandatory reporting procedures. Responsibilities

  • To ensure the education success and personal development of each student through the sound use of leadership and supervisory skills.
  • To actively participate in the collaborative decision making process among faculty and staff.
  • Implement Governing Board policies, administrative regulations and Arizona State Laws as they apply to the local school.
  • Foster positive student, parent, and staff relationships.
  • Make a positive contribution to the education profession and to the community.
  • Direct the preparation and control of the local school budget.
  • Coordinate the food services program, school security, transportation and special programs of the school.
  • Supervise the delivery of instruction to students ensuring that teachers focus the district curriculum to meet student needs.
  • Encourage and facilitate faculty and staff professional growth.
  • Manage the proper and efficient use and conservation of all assets and resources assigned to the school.
  • Direct and coordinate the preparation and maintenance of school records for students, staff, facilities and equipment.
  • Recommend all staff for employment at the school.
