About The Position

Evansville Christian School is seeking an Elementary Physical Education Teacher who is committed to empowering students to embrace a biblical worldview through spiritual and academic growth, servant leadership, and authentic relationships in the name of Jesus Christ. As an educational leader, teachers are expected to provide differentiated instruction and assessment, teach and model effective study and discipline skills, and integrate biblical principles into their teaching. Responsibilities

  • Provide standards-based instruction integrated with biblical principles in physical education, health, and wellness.
  • Lead students in applying the seven essential literacies to information.
  • Plan, evaluate instruction, and incorporate data from assessments to meet student learning needs.
  • Model, teach, and practice effective skills for student ownership of self-discipline and healthy habits.
  • Use Fitness Gram data to diagnose student needs and provide additional instruction.
  • Model spiritual discipline through prayer, Bible study, and Christ-like character, and provide opportunities for student spiritual growth.
  • Supervise students to ensure a safe environment, including during field trips and after-school events.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and initiative in planning, instruction, duty assignments, deadlines, and accountability.
  • Record online grades and provide timely feedback to parents.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Collaborate with parents, educational professionals, parent volunteers, and intervention teams.
  • Work effectively with grade level teams, other teams, and school faculty and staff to implement the school's mission.
  • Organize Field Day for 1st - 4th grade.
