About The Position

Language & Literacy Academy for Learning is seeking a full-time Elementary PE Coach to shape confidence, build character, and change children's futures. This role involves turning energy into impact and play into purpose, offering more than just a job. The position is full-time, operating from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and follows the Polk County School Board calendar. As a PE Coach, you will set up equipment, prepare engaging lessons focused on movement, fitness, and teamwork, and guide students through activities that build physical strength, confidence, and cooperation. You will demonstrate techniques, ensure safety, adapt activities for different skill levels, and track student progress. Your role also includes supervising students in various settings like the cafeteria, outdoors, and during class, acting as a consistent, positive presence to encourage growth and help students succeed physically and personally.

Requirements

• Ability to set up equipment before class
• Create a safe and engaging environment that supports student development
• Prepare and implement lesson plans tailored to various abilities
• Establish and enforce rules of conduct
• Supervise students across multiple areas (gym, cafeteria, outdoors)
• Participate in school-wide behavior programs and document student behavior
• Demonstrate physical skills and assist students during activities
• Teach and enforce safety procedures
• Assess student fitness levels
• Ability to pass a background check
• Ability to pass a drug screening test
