About The Position

The Elementary Mathematics Interventionist at Peirce Elementary School will provide Tier II and III services to identified students through push-in and pull-out models. The goal is to support students in developing their understanding of mathematics by leveraging their strengths. This role involves regular data review to identify students needing intervention, planning small group instruction based on diagnostic and benchmark measures, and collaborating with various school personnel to foster a Multi-Tiered System of Support. A key aspect of this position is supporting Multilingual Learners (MLs) by collaborating closely with Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) students and staff. The interventionist will also connect regularly with role-alike interventionists, the building-based coach, the K-12 Director of Mathematics and Computer Science, and the school principal/assistant principal.

Requirements

  • K-5 Elementary Teacher or Elementary Mathematics Specialist certification
  • Content and pedagogical understanding of elementary mathematics
  • Experience differentiating mathematics instruction for all learners
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with teachers, coaches, staff, and leadership
  • Ability to learn how to administer, score, and interpret diagnostic and benchmark measures
  • Plan small group instruction based on diagnostic and benchmark measures

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier II and III mathematics services through push-in and pull-out models.
  • Regularly review data to identify students for Tier II mathematics instruction.
  • Work with students on developing their understanding of mathematics through their strengths.
  • Collaborate with specialists, other interventionists, special educators, and teacher leaders to foster a Multi-Tiered System of Support.
  • Collaborate closely with Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) students and staff to support Multilingual learners (MLs).
