About The Position

The Lunchroom Supervisor provides consistent oversight of elementary students during lunch periods and helps create a safe, welcoming, and orderly environment. This position ensures that the lunch schedule runs smoothly, reinforces established lunchroom expectations, and prepares the space for each group of students.

Requirements

Is a committed Christian who is dedicated to continued spiritual growth and development as evidenced through a growing personal walk with God (e.g. daily spiritual rhythms of prayer, fellowship, Bible study, etc.).
Prayerfully seeks God’s will in their own lives and in their ministry at CRISTA.
Engages our ministry including staff and colleagues through prayer, participation in spiritual practices, leading devotionals and other spiritual practices.
Affirms, aligns with and supports CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC).
Conducts themselves in a manner which reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC).
Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader.
High School Diploma
Experience working with children.
Food Handler’s Card
Prompt regular attendance is a must.
Available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours and as needed.
Able to multi-task and quickly shift priorities in emergency situations.
Able to work collaboratively.
Ability to pass background checks relating to DSHS Secretary’s List of Crimes and Negative Actions. ( WAC 388-113 ).

Nice To Haves

One year of experience working with children in a school, childcare, recreation, camp, youth ministry, after-school program, or similar setting.

Responsibilities

Supervise elementary students while they are eating lunch.
Ensure that lunch periods begin and end according to the established schedule.
Clearly communicate and consistently reinforce lunchroom behavior expectations.
Ensure students remain seated while eating unless they have received permission to get up.
Help students maintain an appropriate voice level.
Require students to ask permission before leaving their seats to use the restroom or get a drink.
Monitor student behavior and respond appropriately when students need reminders or redirection.
Ensure students clean their eating areas and properly dispose of trash.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly lunchroom environment.
Prepare and reset the lunchroom between groups so the space is ready for the next group of students.
Support orderly arrival and dismissal procedures.
Communicate significant student behavior, safety, or operational concerns to the appropriate school personnel.
Work collaboratively with teachers, instructional aides, food-service staff, and administrators to support effective lunchroom operations.
Perform other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.
Conduct that reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC).
