About The Position

Provides professional development to support staff in the transformation of teaching and learning processes utilizing 21st century methodologies to increase student engagement and achievement. Works collaboratively with campus administrators and faculty in the design and implementation of school-wide instructional initiatives, based on campus data and in alignment with District goals, through coaching, collaborating, and co-teaching. Promotes highly effective teaching practices, i.e., classroom management through highly engaging lessons and meaningful technology integration. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with required endorsements in appropriate content area
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certificate in English as a Second Language – Required for all Core Subject Teachers
  • Five (5) years successful teaching experience.
  • Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
  • Ability to interpret data and evaluate instruction programs and teaching effectiveness
  • Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with assigned classroom teachers to establish realistic and measurable objectives related to both the teacher’s individual professional development and student learning.
  • Support the continuous professional growth and improvement of teacher instructional skills through coaching and collaborative problem solving.
  • Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and coaching to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation.
  • Demonstrate teaching strategies with students in classroom.
  • Recognize teacher effectiveness in accordance with established District programs.
  • Plan and provide appropriate staff development for teachers, administrators, and staff.
  • Provide staff development and instructional support for content and digital resources.
  • Provide differentiated staff development, as needed, in the areas of powerful instructional strategies, small group and workshop instruction, and curriculum modifications.
  • Devote 60% of time to assigned campus.
  • Design instructional video modules, webinars, digital instructional materials, and training aids integrating the district’s recommended instructional models, instructional resources, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Engage in reflective conversations with teachers and administrators.
  • Support instructional staff to ensure that student achievement data drives instructional decisions at the classroom and campus level.
  • Work with teachers to analyze and interpret student data and use findings to develop and apply instructional strategies.
  • Develop curricular or behavioral support materials as needed.
  • Disseminate information regarding current research and significant developments on the state and national levels in area assigned.
  • Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
  • Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
  • Comply with State, District, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Develop and maintain systems for retrieval of information in support of all programs; compile, maintain, file, and secure all physical and computerized reports, records, and other required documents.
  • Pursue Professional Development activities for self and assigned staff; ensure that Professional Development activities are aligned with District goals and initiatives and current professional research.
  • Comply with all policies, operating procedures, legal requirements, and verbal and written directives.
  • Comply with the Professional Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
  • Follow District safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
