About The Position

Alma del Mar is a K-8 charter school with a mission to guide scholars towards college and foster service-minded leadership through a demanding yet supportive, content-rich educational environment. The Associate Teacher role is designed for individuals new to teaching, offering hands-on experience and a path to becoming a lead teacher. Associate Teachers collaborate with experienced Lead Teachers within a grade-level team, gradually taking on more responsibility for lesson planning and instruction. They receive ongoing professional development, feedback, and coaching. Specific content areas and instructional roles will vary based on school needs and team approaches.

• A bachelor's degree is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as part of a grade-level team.
• Collaborate with and work under the guidance of experienced Lead Teachers.
• Take on increasing responsibility for lesson planning.
• Take on increasing responsibility for lead teaching as the year progresses.
