About The Position

The Assistant Principal serves as a key member of the campus leadership team, partnering closely with the Head of School and/or Principal to ensure excellence across all aspects of school operations, academics, and community engagement. This role is both strategic and hands-on, supporting the day-to-day management of the campus while helping drive long-term goals related to enrollment, staff development, and student outcomes. The Assistant Principal plays a critical role in maintaining a high-quality educational environment by supporting teachers, engaging families, and ensuring operational consistency. You will act as a visible leader on campus, helping to foster a culture that is safe, nurturing, academically rigorous, and aligned with Merryhill’s standards of excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field
  • 2+ years in a school leadership, supervisory, or administrative role
  • 3+ years of teaching experience
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop teachers to improve instructional outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced school environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with families, students, and staff
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe, compliant, and well-organized campus
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to frequently walk, stand, sit, squat, stoop, reach, kneel, rise from the floor, twist, listen, read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Ability to often carry, lift, use repetitive or fine hand movements, and occasionally push, pull, or bend.
  • Ability to regularly hear and use clear vision with or without correction.
